Locomotives move coal, ore, materials and equipment through a mine on rails. We have supplied three types, so you can choose by how your roadway is laid out: electric overhead line, suspended rail, or ground track.
Runs on ground track and takes power from an overhead trolley wire, so there are no fuel or battery changes during the shift. A good fit where a main haulage line is already electrified.
Used in: long, fixed haulage routes carrying ore or coal
Hangs from an overhead rail instead of running on the floor. Water, mud or an uneven floor does not stop it, and the roadway floor stays free for people and other work.
Used in: narrow or inclined roadways, moving equipment and supplies
A conventional track locomotive for everyday underground transport. Simple to lay out, simple to maintain, and easy to add to a mine that already runs rail wagons.
Used in: general haulage with rail wagons on ground track
Not sure which one suits your mine? Tell us your track gauge, route length, gradient and the load you need to move, and we will suggest the right locomotive.
